BarterAds — Privacy Policy

BarterAds (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects privacy, but we are not naïve about how ad systems work. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and what we do not do.

If you do not agree, do not use BarterAds.

1. Scope of This Policy

BarterAds operates via SDK integrations across participating apps and websites to deliver ads and measure performance.

This policy applies to:

• The BarterAds website
• Dashboards and admin tools
• SDKs and APIs
• Integrated apps and websites
• Advertising delivery and analytics

It applies to publishers, advertisers, developers, and business users.

BarterAds is not a consumer social network.

2. Core Privacy Principles (Explicit)

We design BarterAds to:

• Minimize personal data collection
• Avoid sensitive personal data
• Avoid selling personal data
• Prefer contextual and aggregated signals
• Treat Barter Dollars and ad delivery as system-level data, not personal profiles

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Account & Business Information

Collected when you register:

• Business name
• Contact name
• Email address
• Login credentials (hashed)
• Billing/subscription metadata (NOT full payment details)

We do not store raw credit card numbers.

3.2 App / Website Information

Collected when you integrate:

• App/package name or domain
• Platform (Android, iOS, Web)
• App store identifiers
• Declared categories and keywords
• SDK version and integration metadata

3.3 Advertising & Traffic Data (Core System Data)

Collected automatically:

• Ad impressions (counts, timestamps)
• Ad placement identifiers
• App/site identifiers
• Country / region (coarse, non-precise)
• Device type (coarse, e.g. mobile / tablet)
• OS version (high level)

This data is:

• Aggregated
• Non-personally identifying
• Used for delivery, accounting, fraud prevention

3.4 Technical & Log Data

Collected for system integrity:

• IP address (used transiently for security/fraud)
• Request metadata
• Error logs
• Performance metrics

IP addresses are not sold, not profiled, and not used for targeting individuals.

3.5 SDK Identifier (BA_UID)

BarterAds may generate a pseudonymous identifier ("BA_UID") to support ad delivery and measurement. This identifier does not directly identify individuals and is only stored or used when consent permits.

4. Data We Explicitly Do NOT Collect

BarterAds does not knowingly collect:

• Names of end users
• Phone numbers
• Precise GPS location
• Contacts
• Messages
• Photos
• Biometric data
• Government IDs
• Sensitive personal attributes

We do not build user-level behavioral profiles.

5. How We Use Data

Where applicable, data processing is based on user consent and legitimate interests such as fraud prevention, security, and system integrity.

We use collected data only to:

• Deliver ads
• Allocate and track Barter Dollars
• Enforce platform rules
• Detect fraud and abuse
• Maintain system stability
• Improve performance and reliability
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use data for:

• Selling personal data
• Cross-platform tracking without user consent.
• Shadow profiling
• Behavioral manipulation

6. Targeting & Personal Data

Targeting is based on:

• App/site context
• Declared categories
• Keywords
• Aggregate network signals

Targeting is not based on identifiable individuals.

No personal profiles are created.

7. Cookies & Similar Technologies

BarterAds uses SDK-level identifiers (such as BA_UID), session identifiers, and essential cookies where permitted by consent.

These are used for:

• Ad delivery
• Measurement and reporting
• Security and fraud prevention

If consent is not provided, identifiers are not stored or are cleared, and functionality is limited accordingly.

8. Consent & Control

BarterAds respects user consent signals and adjusts behavior accordingly.

We recognize three types of consent:

• Storage: whether identifiers can be stored on the device
• Personalization: whether data can be used for targeted advertising
• Measurement: whether data can be used for analytics and performance tracking

Depending on consent:

• Identifiers may not be stored or may be cleared
• Ads may be served contextually without personalization
• Measurement may be limited to aggregated, non-user-level data

Consent is determined by the publisher’s consent management platform (CMP) or equivalent mechanism.

9. Data Sharing

We may share data only with:

• Infrastructure providers (hosting, analytics, logging)
• Fraud detection services
• Legal authorities when required by law

All such sharing is:

• Limited
• Purpose-bound
• Contractually restricted

We do not sell personal data.

10. Third-Party Platforms & App Stores

If you integrate BarterAds:

• You are responsible for compliance with Google Play / Apple App Store rules
• BarterAds does not control third-party policies
• App store enforcement actions are not our liability

11. Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary:

• Operational data: retained for system integrity and auditing
• Account data: retained while account is active
• Logs: rotated and purged periodically
• Barter Dollars and accounting records: retained for dispute and fraud analysis

Data may be anonymized and retained longer for analytics.

12. Data Security

We implement:

• Encryption at rest and in transit
• Access controls
• Principle of least privilege
• Regular monitoring

However, no system is perfectly secure.

You use BarterAds at your own risk.

13. User Rights (GDPR / APP-Compliant)

Depending on jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

• Access your data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion
• Restrict processing
• Object to processing

Requests may be denied where:

• Required for fraud prevention
• Required for legal compliance
• Data is anonymized or aggregated

We do not guarantee deletion of system-critical or accounting data.

We respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 30 days).

Deletion applies to data associated with identifiable or pseudonymous identifiers, except where retention is required for legal, security, or accounting purposes.

14. International Data Transfers

BarterAds may process data in multiple countries.

By using the service, you consent to:

• Cross-border data processing
• Storage in jurisdictions with different privacy laws

15. Children’s Privacy

BarterAds is not directed at children.

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or equivalent minimum age).

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time.

Continued use of BarterAds constitutes acceptance.
